The family business was founded in 1951 with the idea of bartering: Grain for pasta. The business soon
developed so well that the company was able to invest in new facilities and office buildings.
We very quickly established good and long-standing relationships with companies working in cooperatives.
Years before organic became an all-encompassing trend, Berisia & Beer recognized the signs of the times in the 1990s and consistently focused on whole grains and organic. Spelt, in particular, has seen a steady increase in demand and is thus moving more to the fore.

We are a growing medium-sized company with a strong sense of responsibility towards people and nature. In our daily activities and business operations, we always pay attention to the observance and promotion of ecological principles. This has been our top priority for more than 20 years now. That is why we are constantly increasing our organic content and are a member of the Bioland and Naturland associations.
Thanks to our investment in a combined heat and power plant, we avoid the emission of around 200 tons of CO2 per year. We also save an enormous amount of electricity and water. We are particularly proud of this important contribution to the environment.
